I don't "get it", the old Chamber hasn't been effective in years. Oh, I know they get some of our tax dollars and the head of the chamber is waaaaaaaaay over paid but has anyone ever considered that those tax dollars could be better used? Ted says well over 220 members??? Who is he kidding? He presents that as though it is growth? Lets see those stale names and where in the world are those 80 new businesses?? Could we see a list? I'd love to spend my dollars in my county, show the new 80 business's list. As for the Tourist Development Board you partner with, I'm still looking for that revenue to start something for the people who live here and not just for outrageous advertising to firms in other counties. Something for the youth would be nice; or perhaps a tombstone for our business district,

Madison needs alot of things. Before you put businesses in downtown maybe we should put some more jobs here. I mean seriously if you don't have decent jobs then you could put a dang Longhorn Steakhouse here and it wouldn't get good business because no one has money to go out all the time. I understand keeping small businesses here but we all cant make a decent living in a county with no oppurtunities. If you were graduating high school today and had no plans of college how would you try to make a living? Tourism? you could have the fountain of youth here for real but if you don't have anymore than a winn-dixie and holiday inn at the interstate people arent going to want to stay. You can still be a small town and have some things for local and tourists to do. But bottom line we need more than the prison and nestle for the people of Madison to make a living. ;D

Concerning tree lighting on Saturday Did anyone else see the irony of Saturday Nights Light up Madison's "Blackout" Not only were the people that decided they were having thier own event on the 12th unlite but the street lights were "tripped". "Bad Santa" Did someone really try to mess up others Christmas? How could that be? There were children there and vendors that had nothing to do with the silly little feud that two people have decided to rage against the town. Those poor people work hard and were out of money. Shame on how ever did that

Do yall think that the reason the New Chamber is havin Porblems is because of the members. Maybe there was nothing wrong with the Old Chamber and now the people that coudn't get along in first place are keeping thier same habits

Have you ever known the guy running this NEW chamber to do anything just to be doing the right thing? Let's face it. It's always for recognition or spite. Someone didn't get their way and this is just another form of slamming fist on a table or throwing papers in the air and walking out. It's a temper tantrum. As long as people respond to this childishness it will continue. I can't imagine too many people falling for this leadership. It's like boarding a Led Zepplin.

Maybe there was nothing wrong with the Old Chamber and now the people that coudn't get along in first place are keeping thier same habits There are definitely things wrong with the original chamber, and there is possibility for change, that depends on the chamber and it's personnel. This new chamber had a chance to go the right direction, but with the remaining leadership, you can tell it's not going in that direction. If you have read the letter that was sent out, you can tell why people resigned from it. As paperdoll said, recognition or spite, nothing democratic about that. And yes it is spiteful to punish people who are not involved in your fued as was done during light up Madison.

Led Zepplin is cool ~ ya know like "Dazed And Confused" or "Immigrant Song" yeap sound like the new chamber. Let's get back to the boat analogies, how about “have ya ever been in an ocean with a life raft?” Never really knew what that one ment…

anything as antagonistic as that "new chamber" WAS destine to fail. I'm glad. Bad people deserve to fail.
