now im all for having a reason to "profile" someone but i think the window tint law has gone a little to far. why do police cars get to have it, what are the police trying to hide? one cop said its for my dog, to keep him cool. will this excuse work for me?? my dog rides up front too. ?? i realize its for officer safety which i am for, but i think thats taking it a little too far.

To answer your question you can check Florida Statue 316.29545 (2) exemptions for certain law enforcement vehicles. (2) the department (dhsmv) shall exempt all law enforcement vehicles used in undercover or canine operations from the window sunscreening requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957 There are only two marked patrol vehicles in Madison County that have any kind of window tint and both are K-9 units. My unit is one of them and I personally carried it to get the tint installed and purposely made sure my tint was legal although I didn't have to. In the event I stop someone for tint and they make a comment about mine I just walk them back to my car and slide the meter on my window to show them that I am legal. If anyone has a doubt about the tint on there car or mine feel free to flag me down and I will break out the meter so you will know for sure. Thanks, M.D.

i understand that. but if mine is legal, lets say and YOU checked it. that still doesnt guarantee that tomorrow, you may want to pull me over and check it again. and yes, if im doin nuthing wrong then i have nuttin to worry about, but it seems like an easy way to profile to me. true, nuttin i can do about it, but it is what it is. (my windows are not tinted by the way. i cant see when i back up. lol) but i think it is wrong
