Ouch I went to WD for groceries this evening. Holy cow is it just me or will we need to get a loan to buy a gallon of milk soon? I am grateful we are a two income household and we had the common sense to purchase a home well within our means, so far we are hanging in but many people are not. I shudder to think how many more children are going to bed hungry now because parents are having to choose between food and the mortgage payment. The bail out plan is still big news and here's hoping when it comes right down to it the $$$$$$$ go where they are needed most. I certainly don't want to turn on the news and see another story about AIG having a big fancy convention at some five star resort. I work for the state and I know there are many folks, not me I am many years away from retirement yet, that have watched a large part of what they worked for for many years disappear in a very short time. Scary times people.

Not only that but you can get gas cheaper at the interstate than in town sometimes. Why do we as residents have to pay more than travelers? Many of the stations in the county are owned by the same company so maybe it is because there is not much competition.

I think it's because we continue to buy their gas. I buy my gas either at the interstate (not his station) or in Georgia. I wish everyone would do that. He would have no choice but stop.

Great just got a breaking news e-mail from CNN. The Dow closed below 8,000. Break out the mason jars and shovels and start burying your $$$$$$$$$$ in the back yard. Something has got to give.

Here is some shocking news. The U.S. is in a recession. I couldn't believe it when I heard it on the TV this morning. (Blatant sarcasm by the way)

Yippee, I filled the car (Grand Cherokee) up in Lake Park tonight for 26.00. It was 70.00 not too long ago. I have decided I will no longer be lazy and use the full serve in town. I will just take the extra 30 minutes and head north. Wonder how long these prices will last?

Maybe they would have to lower the prices a little bit.
