THANKS VOICE FOR YOUR STORY ON THE SITE!!!
K-9 “LEO” Replaces K-9 “Chase”
Due to the retirement of K-9 “Chase” Corporal Michael Maurice of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office faced the hard task of finding a new partner.
Corporal Maurice spent many hours working with new dogs and “proofing” them to find one would fit best with his personality and the needs of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Corporal Maurice chose K-9 “LEO” from South Georgia K-9 in Pinehurst Georgia.
K-9 “LEO” is a Dutch Shepard that was imported from Slovakia. He is 15 months old and is trained in narcotic odor detecting. K-9 “LEO” weighs 80 pounds but is expected to reach well over 100 pounds when he is fully mature. He has a high drive and is crazy about sniffing out drugs. He is still being trained in crowd control, tracking, and handler protection. Corporal Maurice and K-9 “LEO” have been going back to Pinehurst Georgia for the last few weeks working on advanced training.
K-9 “LEO” also has a very high fight drive which will make him perfect for future training in criminal apprehension.
Corporal Maurice has been training daily with K-9 “LEO” to build a bond and working relationship between the two. K-9 “LEO” has been doing awesome and has great potential to help serve the citizens of Madison County in the fight against criminals. K-9 “LEO” is also great with kids and will work out great for school and public demos.
K-9 “LEO” was purchased with seized drug money and did not cost the citizens of Madison County a dime. With K-9 “LEO” as a new addition there will be lots more seized drug money which will help to cut the cost of running the Sheriff’s office and lessen the amount of money coming out of the citizen’s pockets.
Welcome K-9 “LEO”, Madison County looks forward to many seizures from you in the near future.
