It's the loss of income jobs and taxes the county could get instead of raising taxes on other things

If being a "wet" county would bring in lots of extra revenue without generating additional costs, then why is Hamilton County still in such poverty? The same could be asked of so many other counties that were promised a bright future if only they would sell alcohol. I'm not convinced that it would make a real difference. I don't understand why we aren't honest about this issue. It is really just a convenience issue for those that drink? It may even be seen as a freedom issue. However, it will not generate the income for our county that has been stated.

Fulton, Dekalb and Cobb County Ga. are wet and they are flourishing. How do we choose which county to compare to that will suit our point of view? I see it as the churches wanting to retain control. Who are the churches? The churches are places that are run mainly by donations. Guess who makes the big donations. The ones that want it to stay dry. It's 2010 for God's sake! How can a county in this country still be dry? It's another example of why Madison stays so far behind the rest of America.
