I just came upon the February 6, 2009 Enterprise Recorder that had the headlines "New Lee Library will be a $925,000.00 showplace".
I understood that the taxpayer grant they received was for $700,000.00. Does this article means that they got $925,000.00 in grants?
Why with these huge amounts in grants are they asking for private donations. Haven't us taxpayers given enough??

So let me understand this. A community of 420 residents needs a million dollar library? That's $2200 per citizen.

That is what it said in the GP article. And look at the shape our EMS building is in and they can't get funding or grants to relocate. We sure have our priorities screwed up in my opinion.

This is the kind of stuff that really ticks me off, you are sooooo right geegee, our priorities are really way off base. Lee needed a new library like we need a government health plan!!!! LOL
Wonder whose PALM WAS GREASED FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!

I don't know but I understand that the architect got a bundle. The same one that got a bundle from the hospital grant and gets just about every contract in town. One of the good old boys. I was told that he was not the lowest bidder but the most reputable one. I don't know why they bother taking bids.

That's the way we have always done it /that's the way it has always been here . This makes it sooo much easier to spread the wealth around to the boys . I understand this architect so far has received most of the hospital tax funds that have been collected .
