Jerome Wyche says the county will charge us about $3,000 in dump fees for all this trash.

Where is this Cemetery at?? I have the Leather Gloves, a long handle thingamijigy to pick up trash, boots, don't own a pair, but have sneakers. Lots of bug spray too. Sounds like we better watch the snake situation also. From experience locating old family graves, a tire iron or long strong metal pole works well especially if they are beneath grass and dirt, just a thought.

Update - Elmer and I have changed our plans and will be here to help with the cleanup on the 14th. People will need to bring shovels, rakes and tools. You may want to wear long sleeve shirts and pants. The mosquitos are awful.
If anyone has a BBQ grill that they would be willing to bring and grill hot dogs Elmer and I will supply the food fixins. Also cold bottled water would be nice if anyone would like to bring some.

I find this interesting. In the Wednesday issue of the local newspaper it says regarding the new Lee Library and I quote
"THE MADISON ROAD DEPARTMENT AND ASSIGNED INMATE WORK CREWS HAVE ALSO PROVIDED SIGNIFICANT ASSISTANCE IN GRADING , LAND CLEARING, AND OTHER CLEAN UP ACTIVITY ON THIS SITE"
If the county can do all this for the new Lee Library why can't we get some help cleaning up this cemetery?

This is the response to my question that was posted on the front page from "Action not Bashin" so now we know.
Quote:
Ummmm, it’s not a government building?
I agree that something needs to be done about the cemetery, it is a shame. But does everyone have to contribute to the same cause as everyone else. I have other projects I’m committed to that require a great deal of my time and I personally find them to be more important.
That is how the “even balance” works, you have your priorities, others have theirs. Therefore lots of things get done. Some of you bark such self importance that it turns people off to wanting to do anything you’re involved in.

There are 2 little baby boys side by side in this cemetery tonight whose graves are no longer under piles of trash. John has pictures of their graves on the front page. I thought I had been out there enough to be prepared for anything. Not this time.
Thank you Keith Gordon for your help.
There also was not one mosquito out there today. I have been out there when they were everywhere but not today.

I will find out at the County Commissioners meeting tomorrow what will happen with dumping fees. Dang, I would really like to attend that one, unfortunately it is the eye exam that will get in the way. OOOOOH when do they have a City Meeting, I would like to ask them a couple of questions about their attorney, that clearly does not know the law. Maybe they should review some federal laws on discrimination concerning women, that might be a good thing for them, cause if I have my way, they are about to be sued. Sorry did not mean to get off post. Just had to vent
