Unfortunately, I have been told that Coe has been given the head coaching position! That whole school system is a joke!!! But would love to hear what you find out!

I do know from recent conversations that various assistant coaches have been promised new coaching titles under Coe. Biggest changes will be coming on the defensive side of the ball with a new defensive coordinator. (Guess who)

Here is the answer to greetings2009 comment (thanks to my source):
Posted 2/17/10 online at FHSAA.org (Classified - Positions Available): Madison County HS: Seeking football position coaches for each side of the ball. There are no teaching openings at this time, but some are anticipated for the Fall. If interested, please contact Head Coach Mike Coe at 850-973-5061 ext. 365 or send resume to coem@madison.k12.fl.us.
Please notice Coe's title is Head Coach...but trust me he will hold additional titles of Athletics Director and Offensive Coordinator. His buddy (Travis Hodge) is the new Defensive Coordinator. Rod Williams, former Defensive Coordinator, was offered position coach - linemen.

I heard the same thing. What is so bad is that in my opinion Rod is more qualified for the head coaching position, but has been totally over looked! Coe had this figured out for years, that is why he worked so hard to get Hodge here, so he would have an ally to help him carry out his plan.

Amen...this whole plot has been a "sham" from the start...forcing Coach Carroll out and conning him into signing a resignation letter. Now, they are stalling the announcement because so many people are aware of this "fake" search for a new head coach, and they know there is a potential for a strong backlash from the general public (including football players). This scheme by Coe and friends have runned its course and now they are in the final stretch. I'm sure Cowboys fans will remember these individuals: Coe, Travis Hodge, Bart Alford, Kenneth Hall and Ben Killingsworth...

Has the school board actually hired Coe & does he have a valid contract ? For anyone interested go to school admin. & present a letter with your signature on it asking to review his personnel file . It is public record if he is under contract . If he is under contract as head coach & the school board did not approve this in OPEN PUBLIC SESSION I believe this would be a Sunshine Law violation . If so , contact FDLE in Tallahassee . If they agree , contact Florida Ethics Commission in Tallahassee . You may get something done if the "five" do not have these folks under their thumb . But first , verify what is fact & what is not .

That is a very good question. When Coach Carroll's resignation first became breaking news...Lou Miller, Superintendent, made the following statement to the Tallahassee Democrat: "Carroll will remain an employee of the district, but will relinquish his duties as head football coach on June 30, 2010." She also stated "Ben Killingsworth, principal at Madison County High School, will be tasked with hiring a replacement for Carroll who..." Based on Mrs. Miller’s statements: Coach Carroll should still be the Head Coach until June 30, 2010. However, as you noticed in my post on March 8th, Coe is already addressing himself as Head Coach. Also, Superintendent Miller stated Killingsworth will select the next head coach. According to District School Board Policies, under Chapter 3.0 - School Administration and Chapter 4.0 - Curriculum and Instructions: “athletic programs shall be under the control of the Principal or designee.” (Thus Mrs. Miller's statement is correct about Killingsworth selecting the head coach) My best guess scenario: Killingsworth and Coe, who is the Athletics Director, will select Coe as the next head coach. They will forward this recommendation to the district school board for final approval (rubber-stamping).

This was copied and pasted straight from FHSAA's classified ads, positions available! As I stated earlier, Coe is, by Ben's standards, the head football coach! Anyone typed a letter yet? We/someone needs to get on this! This whole thing is just a farce!!
MCHS, by Florida Department of Education, is considered an "F" school! Why are the two previously named school board members, and the principal, more concerned with getting rid of a great head coach and not concentrating on getting better educators at that high school!

Since the end of last football season, the following schools have hired new head football coaches: Godby High, Jefferson County, Suwannee County, Valdosta High, and North Florida Christian. Madison County is still the only school sitting with no "official" announcement of a new head football coach. What can be so "backdoor" about this decision that Ben Killingsworth and Mike Coe don't have the "backbone" to go public and just make an announcement? (This delay tactic only confirm what many already know...school officials with no integrity)

The following from Tallahassee Democrat today: Corey Fuller, former FSU standout, was introduced as the new head football coach at East Gadsden High School Wednesday afternoon.
It is just me or have every school in our local area named a new head coach, except the Madison Couwboys. Based on public comments regarding the "F" rated school and the handling of this vacant head coach position, the principal and athletic director are setting themselves up for major failure!

Looks to me that the folks interested in MCHS football should have been attending school board meetings .
