This is not about religion but about surviving. Seems everyone wants to distance Themselves from reality. Some of our outstanding citizens oppose the ten commandments being placed on the courthouse square. Question is HOW MUCH CAN WE STAND. Want separate from GOD don't want to live by is statues? Well good luck. Think this oil spill is bad. Just wait and see what happens. Fish dieing, can you county officials stop the flow? Just wait till a storm blows all that oil on land over the crops cows and everywhere else. God said a nation that turns away from him he will turn into hell.Folks you righteous people better wake up not only place the ten commandments at a sight but live them too. GOOD LUCK WITH SEPARATING THE VOICE AND OTHERS FROM GOD. YOU GOT A HARD ROAD AHEAD OF YOU.

Dobbie- You're going to get my opinion:
Do you think the only way people will be able to follow the Ten Commandments is to place it on the courthouse lawn? Maybe you're speaking for yourself only, huh? If I get really angry with someone, I won't have to run to the courthouse lawn and read the monument to keep me from killing this person.
The self-righteous people are the ones that started the whole monument. This has nothing to do with God. Did you download the 45 min. video and pay attention to it? They would refer to it as a way to show Madison's love for God and how we need to turn to God to save our town.....
Then, whenever a Commissioner would refer to it as related to God in anyway, those for it would say. "NO!! It's not religious, it's HISTORICAL!" Come on. Not only are they lying in a childlike manner, they are denying their love for God for political reasons.
This is a tactical move by two people that you should research before buying into this disgraceful political maneuver.

Like I said this is not about reliogion as some would say. The commandments are offensive to a lot of people because they no what is real and don't want to face it. The monument in the park in greenville offends me. Setting there like it will do something for someone, But I,m talking about the real life, And some people don't want to face the truth. But just wait a little while longer and whoever wants and has the right to ignore Gods law will one day wish thay had not gotten involved with seperating from him.

ok, so you post the ten commandments, then who is next? Muslim, hindu, jewish, wicken, etc, etc, etc, then the courthouse will look like a cemetary! You do not need to post the ten commandments to spread the word, simply open your bible.

People even some OUTSTANDING CHURCH GOING FOLKS don't want anything to remind them of the sins. Just look at what is happening. Say read the bible? If folks did they would see the less we stand for what it says the more trouble we are going to have. I tell you. someone post each week the good things that is happening around the country and also the bad and see which outways the other. Look at the stock markets. the weather. gulf oil spill IT IS STILL FLOWING the crime that is just in Madison county. Every news paper a mug shot is on the front page. CAN.T SAY IT ENOUGH , WE ARE IN TROUBLE all because we want to seperate from GOD.

The argument for posting the ten commandments should have been that it is the basis for much of our nation's laws. I don't think our law is based on Muslim, Hindu or Wicken traditions, so there would be no argument for posting these faith's laws. As far as the ten commandments and Christians, the law points people toward God but nobody is saved by the law. Under the new covenant, there are only 2 commandments: Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Reading the Bible and having a real relationship with Christ would be much better than making ourselves feel good by posting the commandments. However, our culture has become too sensitive about everything related to Christianty. I don't see any harm with stating the fact that almost all of the founding fathers of this nation would have had no problem with the commandments being posted on public buildings.

The Ten Commandments-The facts are: They did a sloppy presentation. Seeing that they already had "Madison" on the monument, they thought they would just Waltz in and get what they wanted without opposition. They had no answers for the hard questions like, "Who will pay when the county gets sued?" Plus they wouldn't admit that the religious monument was religious when confronted about that aspect. They would quickly switch to "It's not religious, it's historical!" In other words, and I use dobbie's words "Turning their backs on God".
I'm glad to see that the "Good ole boys" are losing massive amounts of power.

I am also glad to see the "Good ole boys" loose power. I believe that it will ultimately be good for our community. However, when I look at our county government, I see that we have a long way to go.

I say its a fact that things will not get better. This is not my beliefs, but facts of life. I remember a business that was going well. Suddenly the emplyees decided to have a stick to demand more money, in other words go against the one who owned the business. Guess what, it shut the doors and closed the plant. Moral to story go against the owner and see what happens. We've went a strick against the ten commandments and said we refuse them and will have nothing to do with them, so GOD has shut the door to his blessings. This will affect all.

dobbie you're funny. If someone "discovered" some tablets that said "Thou shalt share they wife with thy neighbor", would you be dropping your wife off at the crossroads store on your way to work?
