Madison keeps telling us to "Shop Madison". The City of Madison website is done in Tallahassee, the Madison County website is done in Tallahassee, the Chamber website is done in Vermont. What exactly does "Shop Madison" means to our city and county officials?

Maybe 'cause Ford doesn't make anything worthy of being a police car.
If I need a pair of shoes-I drive into Madison and have 2 choices...Fred's an the Dollar store. Those aren't shoes!

One of the local chain stores had school uniforms for sale. I checked and could not find anything to fit my son who is wearing men's sizes now. I went to another local chain store and found 3 navy uniform shirts and when I was checking out the clerk actually told me don't put them in the dryer they will fall apart. This is the "quality" I found trying to buy local. JC Penney in Valdosta has everything needed to dress my child for the school year (and the garments do not fall apart when washed and dried). Not everything is available locally and when you do find something the quality is poor. BTW I saved about 2.00 on those shirts I bought local compared to JC Penney (I look for sales) but they probably won't last until Christmas where the ones I bought at JC Penney last school year are still in great condition and were fit to donate to another student. I understand wanting to support Madison but I will not dress my son in rags to do it.
