Hello everyone! I would like to know WHY this monument is riding around on the back of a truck when it should be on the courthouse lawn. I would not say I am overly religious but I know that this country was founded on faith and that is evidently clear if you just look at our money. It say " In God We Trust". I was born in Madison and always felt great pride in telling people where I am from, but I can not understand why our commissioners are dancing around like little flowers instead of doing what is right. I guess doing what's right is out of step these days for some people. It seems that our government officials have their priorities going in the wrong directions. They need to listen up and do what is RIGHT! put the monument were it belongs.

HAHAHA
I'm down for it being on the courthouse lawn, but to be fair. I am probably going to construct some sort of monument to Satan shaped into some sort of offensive shape and it will constantly be on fire at all times.

Cathleen, That's a fairly easy one to answer. Placing the ten commandments on the lawn of a courthouse has been found unconstitutional. www.courthousenews.com/2011/02/22/34354.htmNow, I'm a Christian with a deep and abiding faith, and while many professed Christians think this is a fight that needs to be had, I'd much rather see our local government deal with actual matters of government- taxes, promoting businesses, addressing unemployment, etc. This is a matter of posturing by a few that ends up interrupting the business of the county.
