Does any one know why the country is in a mess? Well. if you don't just remember what the Bible has to say about all this. For all that is against prayer.or anything to do with God you will be left in the dark so to speak. someone tell if you can, if the economy will get better.Look at the sickness we have in school and in the land, fires, floods.People just don't want to face reallity that the word of God is true. So go ahead and scold the christians, mock or what ever it feels good to do. Any one that is guilty of fighting against God will find themselves in a bad place. You want to be seperated from the church and not hear what true christians are trying to say, well it is fast coming to pass. But I assure you that in eternity you will remember every time you rejected and opposed Gods word.He said the nation that turned away from him would be turned into hell. This is my final reply to this. But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and the murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and the idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake that burneth with fire. This is why so many people is against Christians or the Church,They don't want to here that it is a sin to do all this. And what more is the world teaching the kids.

Once again Dobbie, big difference between believing and believing in Organized Religion, I for one have never received any comfort from Organized Religion only bigotry and hypocrisy. Those are my experiences and mine alone, I am not mocking anyone. I am a product of the Southern Baptist Faith and once again my experience associated with that faith were not good, not good at all. If I experienced "Godly" like behavior in the church experience I would still be attending, but I am a realist. As I have often said, It is not that I don't believe there may be a god it is I don't believe in the "People Who Claim to Work for Him" I make my own choices, and have my own belief's which I live by on a daily basis, I don't live one way during the week and then on Sunday or in front of others another way.
I know what the 10 commandments say and I try to live by the creed because it always made sense to me, but I do not need a church or a group of people working for that church to make sure I do, it is just so simple to me.
Just remember Jim Jones was so convincing a speaker, claiming to be a man of god that he convinced hundreds of people to take their own life. And I could go on and on.

I think if people would take time to find out what "God" really meant to them, then they would realize that God is love. Plain and simple.
Maybe I don 't believe the same way someone else believes, but I don't look at that perspective. I see someone who is trying to connect and spread love, because that's what I believe. Its only when people start killing and purposely, physically hurting others because of different beliefs when I realize that they are obviously not being god-like. Love is the essence of ALL great religions. All the other crap about fighting, and my god is better than your god, is BS. Its propaganda spun by the evil people who know a thing or two about mind control and how it can be used through religion.
The Bible was a story, a story of good vs. evil. I don't believe God was vengeful and punishing. But I do believe in karmic energy, therefore I try to do unto others and not judge them.
Pick a side people. Good or evil. Do you want to spread love or hate? Caring and understanding or intolerance? Why do you think so many people, convicts and murders, turn to God and Jesus? Because God loves, even when man thinks the outlaws should be put to death. Jesus taught to love your neighbor, and he taught forgiveness. Its a very simple message. LOVE. No greater love than others before self. Its very simple.
Yes, my rights may be violated but I think that is a cry for help from the people who I feel have wronged me. They need love and forgiveness more than they need me to punish them or make fun of them. Maybe these people should be approached privately and told honestly and from our hearts that we don't understand why they feel the need to put their religion out there like they did. Maybe we will find that that is their way of reaching out and trying to help. Maybe they are scared and they need comfort in these trying times. Maybe they are really on OUR side and want to help but aren't really sure how. If you want to look at it like religion was being rammed down your throat, then that's how it was. But if you want to see it as a group of people trying to bring a connection to others the best way they know how, then that's what it was.
Like a great man once said, "The elites, the powers-that-be, want us to fight amongst ourselves. Whether it be about race, religion, ethnic or national background, gender, marriage, social status. The fact is we're still fighting. And while we're fighting, the elites keep going to THE BANK. The last thing they want is an informed public, capable of loving each other and free-thinking."

Can I start a church-I would call it "Holy Naked". You wouldn't have to dress up for this one. It will be the most real church ever. Praying must be silent so as not to infringe on other people's space. Starting a church...what a great idea! The Church of Love! All the hymns will be Bob Marley. I have so many ideas. We would need a place to gather...

wow.
well said pastor doll.
I agree. I too think that those of us who consider ourselves free-thinkers or whatever, need to at least live the golden rule, out loud, even when faced with intolerant bigots. Christians always say: "love the sinner, hate the sin", well, I can put that to good use in this situation. I don't agree with what they're doing, I think it's silly and ridiculous; but we still have lots in common on other issues. We can still be friends.
If we keep our arguments focused on the ISSUE and off the PEOPLE making them, I think we'll go a lot further toward common ground.
yea, and amen!

The main issue here is merely not the way I size up to other people, but how I stand with God. I agree with you elmo.a lot of folks go to church for the wrong reason. I to have been a victim of certain things coming from church folks. I don't focus on people. I'm not trying to make any one believe what I say, but I read the Bible and compare Gods words to what is happing today. Religion is not to batter anyone with. I don't believe in pushing on anyone to accept things they don't want to.I love people and hope for the best in them. I would that all would live in happiness with each other. I'm sorry if I offend anyone. I just hope we all can be together in a better place.

Why are Madison County people offended by this? It is exactly what is happening here in Madison but with a different religion. Periodically we have a week long Christian prayer vigil at our public city park. So what is the difference??
Washington, D.C. - On September 25th there will be a national prayer gathering of Muslims on the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building. They are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from mosques all across America. They will gather to pray from 4:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The gathering will take place by the site where U.S. Presidents have been inaugurated since 1981.

It is how it was done. Without thought as to how others in the captive audience. It is also inconsiderate to have the attitude, well if they don't like it they can leave when they came to see the event and now have to wait through a prayer that they don't agree with. Very un christian like attitude that some christians have.
The park is a public place where there is not as much of a captive audience and your not disturbing and organized event, but creating one yourself.

Every human being has a choice to except God or reject him.But he is real. I believe that a lot of preachers and others use God and his word to make themselves .so to speak stand out in the crowd as to be someone great. I for one look at the media and like folks on the forum that seems to no matter what it takes, mock God and try every way possible to wipe him out. I'm looking at the way the pages of time are unfolding and looking what will happen to this country and the people that fights against God. God is not pushy or demands that anyone do what they did at the ball game. Jesus said {who so ever will let him come and I would in no wise cast him out. So every one has the right to choose.

The fact that the prayer stopped because there's no radical prayer screamer to fill RC's shoes tells me a little about the motivation and intentions of the prayer at the game. As many other cases of mass public prayer, it was for show.
